Our Story

The quest to find premium botanicals for teas and supplements began here in the US in the early ‘70s when there were very few importers of any kind of herbs at all. The fledgling natural foods industry was just being birthed and along came a group of twenty-something-year-olds who thought picking herbs in the mountains of Colorado was cool. Their enthusiasm for the health benefits of herbs led them to make a living from their fascination with herbal teas.

Thus, a young company was formed that became Celestial Seasonings, which soon outgrew any domestic suppliers. The job of searching for the best botanicals from around the world fell to a young and enthusiastic 22-year-old who loved the adventure of traveling afar.

Renowned Tea Designer

That person was Caroline MacDougall, who is now the founder of Worldwide Botanicals along with her other brands, Teeccino Herbal Coffee & Teas and TeeChia Super Seed Cereals. She is a renowned tea designer, who has created over 100 teas during her 50-year career for top tea companies including Yogi Tea, Republic of Tea, and Organic India.

Worldwide Botanicals

Worldwide Botanicals features organic herbs that are imported directly from growers and collectors around the world including some here in the US. We specialize in unique botanicals that we developed for use in our other brands' products, such as chicory, carob, chia seeds, rooibos, and peppermint. We also feature rare herbs like white sage and ramón seeds where we have pioneered their sustainable cultivation or wild collection to preserve wild habitat.
